AND IT WAS CALLED "YELLOW"

I am very into flowy clothes these days. The comfort and femininity just appeals to me on every level. I think I have finally moved away from anything skin tight and short. I cringe at the thought of my clothes almost squashing me or pinching me somewhere. I’ll leave that for highschool-Andy. Cotton On has surprisingly great clothes at the moment. I actually got some really nice pants and jumpsuits from them about a week ago and am super impressed with the material and fit. I’ve had some problems with Cotton On’s quality on previous occasions, especially since they are…

I'M BACK!

Hey you. It’s been quite a while. For the past year I have been working as a game lodge manager in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. It had been one of the most incredible experiences of my life, working with the locals, meeting guests from all around the world and then obviously seeing our magical African animals in the wild on a daily basis. My job did however mean that I had to wear “bush colours” in the form of brown, khaki and cream every day, not to mention being dusty constantly (Like, I had to dye my hair seriously…

NOT-A-FASHION-POST

Like I said, I travelled to Bali for two weeks with only a backpack and hand luggage. So it’s no surprise that my outfit details for this particular day was pretty much the same as our first day of travels (which I blogged about here), except my cropped tee was like a khaki green and not white. But, I mean, I was on holiday.. in Bali.. with a super sexy guy (boyfriend). So who cares that I wore the same thing twice. My backpack, though, is totally worth blogging about! Its the Bobby backpack in toffee from Freedom of Movement and I always travel with…

ALWAYS IN A JUMPSUIT

Yup. If I can choose between anything and a jumpsuit… 99,95% of the time, I choose the jumpsuit. Except when I go shopping. Then a jumpsuit is the WORST! The whole thing off and on again when just trying on the smallest item. And then there’s the dilemma of wanting to try on some shorts and then I have to take a shirt that I don’t want with me into the changing room so that I don’t have to stand outside topless when my fashion advisor (boyfriend) gives the yay or nay. So, no to jumpsuits when shopping (my top…

SIMPLICITY

We all have that one pair of jeans or dress or sneakers that you can wear no-matter-what and just feel good. My version of this is the white striped flowy trousers from Forever New. I feel like I can wear them to the beach with a bikini top or to a fancy event with some heels and a nice top (as long as I don’t mess some tomato sauce or something on them and actually keep them white!) In this case- I wore them scootering around Uluwatu in the morning and strolling through Ubud in the afternoon. I just felt…

NOT SO MONDAY BLUES

There were a couple of factors that contributed to us going to Bali in June. I mean, who would not want to go to Bali? Beautiful beaches, a-ma-zing food, chilled vibe, sunshine, surf, warm water, yoga… but, the factor that reaaaally put Bali on the “where-are-we-going-for-our-leave” list – we don’t need a visa. As South Africans, we are kind of used to the fact that we need a visa for basically every country on our big blue planet. So, since we were not going to be in the country for 3 months before our trip (still working in Botswana), we…

MIMOSAS, BASICALLY ALL DAY

When one of your best friends in the entire world gets married, I believe you should be  there for every small thing. It’s a little hard when said friend lives on the other side of the country, but I will do my best to be there for every little thing. So, this was the perfect time to be back in my beloved Cape Town for the first time since February! I didn’t know how much I missed it there until I hopped into my Uber and chatted to Paddington about how green it is and how the traffic sucks on a…
