We all have that one pair of jeans or dress or sneakers that you can wear no-matter-what and just feel good.

My version of this is the white striped flowy trousers from Forever New. I feel like I can wear them to the beach with a bikini top or to a fancy event with some heels and a nice top (as long as I don’t mess some tomato sauce or something on them and actually keep them white!)

In this case- I wore them scootering around Uluwatu in the morning and strolling through Ubud in the afternoon. I just felt GOOD the whole time!

Over the years I really learned that I should dress for the occasion. I initially thought that it means, you know, to wear black at a funeral or a swimming cap to your swimming gala. But, I have been in a couple of situations where I WISHED I wore something else.

Let me give you an example: I was 15 and on my way to the island of Zanzibar. I was so excited to be going to this magical island that I sommer wore my shortest shorts on the plane there. Well, as I walked into the terminal on Dar Es Salaam, I immediately wanted to change as I did not realise that this is a moslem country and everyone else was modestly dressed. So, even though I was appropriately dressed for going to an island, I was not dresses for this occasion.

But this day I got it right. I wasn’t conscious about a short jean short riding up my legs because of the combination of humidity and walking a lot. I did what I wanted to do and felt damn comfortable and classy while doing it.

So yeh. My pants (trousers?) were from Forever New, the duplicate of the white loose tee crop from the other day in like a wine-ish colour from Factorie and my platform Supergas (again). Oh and I almost forgot I bought the cutest round twine Bali handbag! Only my phone and hotel key fit in there, so I carried my cash and card loose in there… risky… but in the name of fashion. obv.

Did I mention that I went on holiday for 2 weeks and only took hand luggage? Hence the repeated shoes. and repeated everything else!

But I must say, I was impressed with how I packed.

Maybe I should do a tutorial on how to pack light one day… We’ll see. Only if I manage to perform that miracle again!

I get ideas about what’s essential when packing my suitcase.
